Who this policy covers

Insolvency Alerts is an Australian service that watches ASIC’s published notices against a list of companies you provide, and alerts you when one of them enters liquidation, administration or restructuring. This policy covers the personal information we collect through the website, checkout, the dashboard, and the API.

Information we collect

Account information. When you subscribe, we store your email address and an account record. If you set a password to sign in to the dashboard, it is stored as a hash, never as plain text.

API keys. Your API key is shown to you once, at checkout. From then on we store only a hash of it. We cannot look up or recover a lost key; if yours is lost or exposed, contact us and we will help you replace it.

Watch list data. The company identifiers you upload, ACNs and ABNs, are stored so we can match them against new ASIC notices. We do not collect information about those companies beyond what already appears in a published notice or in ASIC’s public company register.

Billing information. Card details never touch this service. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe collects and stores your card details, your billing address, and your ABN, which is used to issue a tax invoice. We store a reference to your Stripe customer record, not your card details.

Where the notice data comes from

ASIC publishes insolvency notices, appointments and related filings at publishednotices.asic.gov.au. That data is already public record. We collect it and make it searchable and watchable so you do not have to check ASIC’s site by hand. Every notice we show links back to the original ASIC page. Notices can name real people, such as directors and appointees; if you are named in a notice and want us to consider removing it from our results, contact us.

How we use information

We use the information above to operate your account: matching your watch list against new notices, authenticating API requests, delivering webhook alerts, and handling billing through Stripe. We do not sell your information, and we do not share your account or watch list data with anyone other than Stripe, for payment processing.

Retention

We keep your account and watch list data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account or ask us to delete it, we remove your account record and the watch lists and identifiers stored under it. ASIC notice data we have already collected is a copy of the public record and stays in our database independently of any one account, the same way the notices themselves stay published on ASIC’s own site.

Your rights under Australian law

Insolvency Alerts is based in Australia, and personal information is handled in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We do not claim to follow any other jurisdiction’s privacy law, such as the EU’s GDPR. You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account, by emailing support@insolvencyalerts.com.au.

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page.
